Terminal Velocity Aerospace, LLC is pleased to welcome Ms. Karla Wagner to its technical staff as an engineering intern for the Spring 2017 semester. Ms. Wagner is a recent graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a BS degree in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) where she was the recipient of the prestigious Stamps President’s Scholarship. Her specialty is in advanced materials and thermal analysis. She will support TVA’s internal thermal protection systems (TPS) team conducting research and testing on new low cost ablative heat shield materials for TVA’s RED-Data2, RED-4U, and RED-25 reentry devices. TVA’s first three RED-Data2 flight units use TPS materials supplied by NASA. Those units are scheduled to launch to the International Space Station in March of 2017.
Prior to joining TVA, Ms. Wagner held engineering intern positions at Boeing, Gulfstream, and Pacific Northwest Research Lab. She is a native of Marietta, GA.
